First Birthday Cake Smash

A child's first birthday is an amazing milestone. Capture this fleeting moment with a personalized cake smash photo session! These sessions usually take place a month or a few weeks before your child's birthday so I can have the photos back to you for the big day. Some parents like to wait until the day of the birthday and that is also a great option. These sessions can take place indoor or outdoor. All indoor sessions take place at your home within 15 miles of Stamford, CT. Outdoor session can take place at a park or beach within 15 miles of Stamford.

Upon booking we will discuss what style or theme you would like. I have a variety of themes for you to choose from (wild one, donut grow up, unicorn, pink and gold, blue, bohemian, floral, butterfly, football, sesame street, superhero, football). Our session would take place on a Saturday or Sunday at a time that works with your baby's nap schedule. It is critical with young babies that we schedule according to their happiest times of day, well rested and well fed.

We will start the session with some portraits of the baby sitting in the set, sitting on props, crawling, standing or even walking! 
You may do a dressy outfit then change for the "smash". This is a great opportunity for a sibling shot before the cake. I am happy to do a family shot around your home or outside. We will then move on to the cake smash photos. We let the baby attack the cake until they are content. 

If you choose to add on a "Splash Session" we will put your little one covered in cake into a gorgeous small bath tub with warm soapy water to wash off all the cake. Most babies give me their best smiles during this time. You then go home with a happy, clean baby. Splash is an additional $75 fee.

I will provide all the elements of the set, balloons, cake topper and cake stand. You would provide the outfits and cake. I have recommendations and am happy to help you every step of the way. I encourage accessories! Hats, bows, headbands even jewelry can bring life to your child's personality. 

All sessions take 2-3 weeks for processing. When I deliver your final gallery you will have an option to purchase professional quality prints directly from the website gallery. These prints often take a week from the date of purchase. 

Older Birthdays

I love working with older children on their birthdays as well! This can be fun because they can have more say in the theme. Maybe a favorite character or show? Favorite book? Paint splash? With older children a cake is not necessary, it can symbolize the birthday but older children don't smash right in as they have learned better. This is more of a fun play session with their favorite things to celebrate their big day. My kids look forward to their birthday sessions almost as much as their party!
